I feel very viscerally about the joy and ease of working with Spencer Mindich.  Getty Images photographers would fight over who got to shoot at SiriusXM on any given day, and a large part of that was because we knew it would be an insanely easy day full of good work and that Spencer Mindich was always a large part of why. Often, with known photographers, the publicists at SiriusXM would stay upstairs and work on important things because they trusted Spencer and the tone he set at SiriusXM.

Many have told me over the course of my job what they thought I needed, but few have been right. Spencer's ability to think based on my needs, the talent's needs, the host's needs, and the needs of everyone but himself led so many people (Spencer's relationships are wide and deep, and he still carries them with him) to place their trust in him and to follow his lead. Spencer would tell me within a five-minute window when two celebrities might meet in a hallway and be photographed together. He would tell me how to handle certain people and what their needs and pet peeves were. He would make things happen that would never otherwise have happened.

I was always the least important part of Spencer's day, and he always made me feel like the most important part of his day, breaking off whatever pieces of himself he had available, synergizing whatever magic was happening around him that he could synergize, and using his deep wellsprings of trust with all of us (in a very untrusting industry) to make sure that everybody won, all the time, and that everyone left happy and victorious.

To work with Spencer is to take a whole lot off of your plate and confidently hand it over and know you don't have to worry about it. He might be my favorite person in the role that I have ever worked with.
